Kylie Elliott (she/her) is a Board-Certified Music Therapist who received a dual bachelor’s from the University of Vermont in flute performance and biology along with a master’s degree in music therapy from the University of the Pacific. She completed her 8-month music therapy internship in September of 2023 at Manchester Community Music School where she worked in community-based music therapy settings, led early childhood music explorations, taught adaptive music lessons, and provided mentorship in performance groups. In her early career, Kylie has worked in rehabilitative care, skilled nursing facilities, and school-based settings, served individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and worked within a hospital.
Kylie has a strong background in music performance and scientific methods, contributing to an evidence-based perspective of music therapy practice. Her continued education includes the distinction of Neurologic Music Therapy affiliate, early childhood music lessons, and Sprouting Melodies training. As a music therapist (and music educator), Kylie practices a client-led approach while she guides clients, students, and performers toward healthy habits and growing confidence. Her philosophy is technically eclectic, involving multiple therapeutic approaches while emphasizing the neuroscientific impacts of music on the individual and group. Kylie identifies as neurodivergent and applies her experiential knowledge to her approach in working with neurodivergent individuals.
When not leading music therapy sessions, Kylie can be found performing flute in local orchestras, indoor rock climbing, and spending time outside camping, hiking, and riding her bike.
