Programmatic Specialist
Elaine Chen (she/her) is a Music Therapist who earned her Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Molloy University in August 2024. She completed her internship at the Rebecca School in New York. It was a DIR Floor time model special needs school, where she worked with individuals aged 3 to 21 with autism and developmental delays, supporting their growth through music-centered interventions. During her fieldwork, Elaine also gained diverse clinical experience at Stony Brook Hospital’s acute psychiatric units and the Music Academy for Special Learners, providing music therapy services to individuals across a wide range of ages and needs.
Elaine’s primary instrument is the piano, and she also serves as a part-time private piano instructor. Her approach to music therapy is rooted in a client-centered, humanistic philosophy, focusing on fostering self-expression, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. She is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive therapeutic environment tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
Outside of her professional life, Elaine enjoys cooking, shopping, hip hop dance, and exploring new places around her neighborhood.
