Programmatic Music Assistant
Milo Lis (they/them) recently graduated from Bennington College with a Concentration in Music and Drama, and a second line in Public Action. Coming from a family of classical musicians and professors, they’ve studied piano, voice, and saxophone from a young age. In the last couple of years, they have incorporated ukulele, dulcimer, mandolin, synths, and accordion into their music practice. They explore a wide variety of genres; from international folk music to new-age music, from Baroque to new wave. In addition to performance, Milo has had fruitful success as a composer, audio engineer, and new-age improviser.
In their community work, Milo is a strong advocate for the intersection of community and the performing arts, and the opportunities for growth it provides. As a neurodivergent and queer individual, creating safe spaces for our emotions and bodies is something that they are passionate about and always strive to provide in their work, in and outside of Roman Music Therapy Services.
In their free time, Milo enjoys doing anything music or theater, playing with their cat Misia, cooking, making jewelry from found objects, puppets, and singing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra Tanglewood Festival Chorus.
