What Is The Service?
Jam Band is an engaging and interactive drop-in music therapy group where teens and adults come together to jam out in a fun, supportive environment while sharing meaningful musical experiences.
Participants explore a variety of instruments, move to the music, and create original songs through choice-based songwriting and improvisation. Each session offers sensory-rich, goal-oriented music experiences that promote connection, self-expression, and shared joy.
Each Jam Band has a musical theme! Themes may include:
- Broadway Musicals
- Classics Rock
- Disney Music
- 90s Pop
- Jazz
- Blues
- Pop
- K-Pop/J-Pop/C-Pop
- Reggae
- Spanish Music
- And more!

Who Is It For?
This group is open to older teens and adults with disabilities, including those who benefit from caregiver or staff assistance.
Jam Band offers a safe, inclusive environment where everyone is valued – and everyone can be a rock star.
As a drop-in program, Jam Band is an especially great fit for people who are new to music therapy, are seeking a short-term service, or seeking a supplemental music experience in addition to their clinical music therapy services.
There is a maximum of 8 participants per session. Each participant is allowed to come with one caregiver or support staff if needed.
