Faculty Supervisor

Roman Music Therapy Services is currently seeking Faculty Supervisors – experienced music therapists from a variety of clinical backgrounds – who believe in the value of clinical supervision and are looking to join a collaborative, people-centered organization. 

 *This is a part-time role and may be done entirely virtually. Faculty Supervisors do not need to reside in Massachusetts.

 The Role: Faculty Supervisor 

The Faculty Supervisor serves as a clinical supervisor and consultant, supporting music therapists through reflective supervision and professional dialogue. Faculty Supervisors draw on their own clinical experience and areas of specialization to help clinicians think critically about client work through a variety of perspectives and lenses. 

This role focuses on clinical reflection, ethical reasoning, and professional development, and does not involve staff oversight or management. 

As the Faculty Supervisor, you will: 

 Provide Clinical Supervision and Consultation 

  • Facilitate individual supervision sessions with assigned supervisees 
  • Support clinicians in processing clinical work and approaches 
  • Encourage reflective practice, ethical decision-making and professional self-awareness 
  • Offer perspectives informed by your clinical background and experience 

Support Professional Development 

  • Assist clinicians in integrating theory, training, and clinical experience 
  • Normalize growth, uncertainty, and continued learning as part of ongoing practice 
  • Contribute to a supervision model that is respectful, thoughtful, and supportive 
  • Lead or co-lead professional development opportunities for the staff throughout the year 

What You Bring 

  • MT-BC in good standing 
  • Bachelor’s degree in music therapy or equivalent 
  • 5+ years of full-time clinical experience 
  • Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, or mentorship 
  • Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and ethical grounding 
  • Commitment to reflective, culturally responsive, and client-centered care 

Work Environment 

Faculty Supervisors may work remotely and conduct supervision virtually. This role is designed to complement existing clinical or academic work and typically requires 2-5 hours a week. 

Benefits and Compensation 

This is a part-time position and compensation is commensurate with experience. 

Salary range for this role is: $33-$45 per hour
